Muscat: Iraqi national athletics team members Abdul Rahman Omar Sabbar and Maryam Abdul Hamid Abdul Ilah clinched two silver medals in the high jump event at the Muscat Grand Prix meeting.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Athletics Federation revealed that Abdul Rahman Omar Sabbar achieved a height of 2.06 meters, while Maryam Abdul Hamid Abdul Ilah recorded a height of 1.70 meters.

The statement further explained that their participation was at the invitation of the meeting’s organizing committee. This invitation was extended in recognition of their achievements in the continental silver round that concluded in Bhubaneswar, India, last month.
