Iraq, Syria Agree To Activate The Work Of Technical Committees And Unify Positions On Water From Turkey

Baghdad Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, and his Syrian counterpart, Tammam Raad, signed the joint minutes to agree on the most important paragraphs discussed during the meetings, including exchanging data related to the flows of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers periodically and in emergency situations.

The two sides also agreed, according to a statement by the Ministry of Water Resources, to activate the work of the technical committees, unify positions on the quantities of water received (at the Turkish-Syrian border), activate joint cooperation, exchange experiences, intensify holding technical and administrative meetings between the two sides, and share the damage resulting from the decline in water flows and the impact of climate change.
