Iraqi and Kurdistan Region Bar Associations Discuss Agreement Updates

Baghdad: The Iraqi Bar Association is currently engaging in discussions with the Kurdistan Region Bar Association to update their bilateral agreement and unify mechanisms for professional cooperation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a delegation from the Iraqi Bar Association, led by its president, lawyer Ahlam Al-Lami, met with the president of the Kurdistan Region Bar Association, lawyer Bakhtiar Haider. The meeting focused on revising the articles of the bilateral agreement signed between the two associations. The goal of the update is to align the agreement with the current requirements of professional practice and to strengthen cooperation between the associations.

Both associations underscored the importance of ongoing coordination and the activation of the bilateral agreement. This initiative aims to enhance professional unity, protect the rights of lawyers, and contribute to the overall development of bar association work across Iraq.
