Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty stressed on Saturday the importance of de-escalation and supporting efforts aimed at achieving calm.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Foreign Ministry stated that Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a phone call with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty. During the conversation, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and explore opportunities for cooperation in various fields. They also emphasized the need for continued coordination and consultations on regional issues of mutual interest.

The ministry further noted that the call addressed recent developments in the region. The two ministers highlighted the importance of de-escalation and supporting measures aimed at achieving calm, contributing to enhanced regional security and stability.

Additionally, both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing support for the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan. They expressed a commitment to building on the progress achieved under this mechanism to enhance prospects for integration, development, and shared prosperity among the three countries.
