Residential Building Collapse in Basra: Rescue Efforts Continue as One Remains Missing

Basra: A residential building collapsed in Basra, leading to the rescue of four individuals, while efforts continue to find a woman trapped under the debris. Civil Defense rescue teams in Basra Governorate are actively searching for the woman who remains missing beneath the rubble of the four-story building located in the Al-Mufaqiyah area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense Directorate issued a press release on Saturday detailing the rescue operations. These efforts are conducted under the direct supervision of Brigadier General Mazen Mohammed Lafteh, the Director of Civil Defense in Basra Governorate, with the presence of Provincial Police Chief Major General Latif Abdul-Ridha Al-Saad. The teams successfully evacuated four family members from the collapsed structure.

The rescued individuals were subsequently taken to the hospital for medical treatment and are reportedly in stable health. However, the search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate the woman still missing under the rubble.
