Baghdad: Today’s newspapers focus on the government’s condemnation of the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and its support for al-Zaidi’s efforts to maintain security and stability in the region. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi government condemned the targeting of Saudi Arabia and emphasized its commitment to preventing the use of its territory for such purposes. Iraq’s three presidencies affirmed their rejection of any aggression that threatens the Kingdom’s security.

President Nizar Amidi reiterated Iraq’s stance against using its territory or airspace for attacks on neighboring countries. He emphasized that protecting Iraq’s sovereignty and maintaining its regional relations is a constitutional responsibility. Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has ordered an urgent investigation into the attacks and dismissed certain security officials in Maysan Governorate, where the attacks originated. The Iraqi government appreciates Saudi Arabia’s response to contain the situation, reflecting a commitment to fraternal relations and cooperation.

The Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, condemned the attacks and supported the government’s investigative measures to maintain relations with Saudi Arabia and ensure Iraq’s stability. Meanwhile, Al-Zawraa newspaper reported on al-Zaidi’s involvement in signing a development contract for the Ajil oil field, aiming to enhance Iraq’s energy security.

Al-Zaman newspaper highlighted al-Zaidi’s upcoming European tour to France and Germany, focusing on strengthening economic and security ties. The visit aims to foster partnerships in various sectors, including energy and technology, aligning with Iraq’s development goals.

The French Presidency, as reported by Sawt Al-Qalam, confirmed that Prime Minister al-Zaidi’s visit to France will involve discussions on energy, security, and regional issues with President Emmanuel Macron. The talks will address the fight against terrorism and regional instability affecting trade and energy supplies, including Iraqi oil exports. The visit underscores Iraq’s efforts to deepen international partnerships and attract investments to support its economic diversification.
