Baghdad: The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate has officially announced the commencement of registration for examinations aimed at new membership and professional status changes for the upcoming academic year of 2026-2027. This initiative is set to provide opportunities for both fresh media graduates and current employees of accredited media institutions to formalize their professional standing within the Syndicate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Professional Examinations Committee has extended an invitation to eligible candidates to visit the Syndicate’s headquarters in Baghdad, as well as its provincial branches, starting from Saturday, September 12, 2026. This registration period will last for one month, during which applicants are required to complete the necessary application forms to participate in the Syndicate’s examinations.
Media graduates are expected to submit a recent graduation certificate from 2026, specifically a Bachelor of Media, addressed to the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate. This must be accompanied by a barcode, identification documents, and four uniformed photographs. Meanwhile, employees from media institutions need to provide a letter confirming ongoing journalistic employment from a Syndicate-accredited institution. This letter should also be complemented with a recent graduation certificate, a barcode, identification documents, and four uniformed photographs.
For those seeking a change in membership status, the guidelines stipulate that three years must have elapsed since acquiring their last membership. Applicants must also present a renewed syndicate ID, a letter of continued journalistic work from a Syndicate-accredited institution, and a recent graduation certificate with a barcode, along with the necessary identification documents and photographs.
