Baghdad: The House of Representatives has concluded the first reading of a new draft law aimed at joining the Statute of the Organization for the Development of Women in Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Parliament conducted this session on Monday, where the draft law was thoroughly reviewed. This legislative step marks the beginning of Iraq’s efforts to become a part of the Organization for the Development of Women, which operates within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The statute seeks to promote the development and empowerment of women across its member states.
