Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the attack on a number of Iraqi students at their residence in Semnan Province, Iran, by several Iranian citizens.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has directed the Iraqi Embassy in Tehran to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Embassy has dispatched a committee to assess the students’ well-being and engage with the relevant Iranian authorities to follow up on the investigation. The Ministry emphasized the necessity of taking legal action against those responsible for the attack.
The Ministry expressed appreciation for the measures taken by the Iranian authorities to protect the students and ensure their transportation to the university for exams. It stressed the importance of providing conditions that guarantee the safety and security of Iraqi citizens in Iran, and to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
