Amman: The Iraqi women’s national volleyball team concluded its participation in the third West Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, by securing third place and the bronze medal. The team faced the host nation, Jordan, in their final match, where they were defeated in three straight sets at the Sports Palace, resulting in a commendable third-place finish for Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi women showcased strong performances throughout the tournament, demonstrating skill and determination. Despite their loss to Jordan in the final match, their efforts were rewarded with a bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for the team in the region’s competitive volleyball landscape.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese women’s national team continued their dominance by winning the West Asian Championship title for the third consecutive time. They defeated the Qatari women’s team in three straight sets, maintaining an undefeated record throughout the tournament and solidifying their position as a powerhouse in West Asian women’s volleyball.
