Israeli Forces Conduct Raids and Evacuations in West Bank

Hebron:Early Saturday morning, the Israeli occupation army launched a comprehensive military operation targeting the West Bank, raiding 24 cities and villages, including several locations across the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, Tubas, Jenin, Bethlehem, Jericho, and the town of Burqin.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the incursion into Hebron, the Israeli military ordered residents in several areas to evacuate their homes. The operation involved deploying reinforcements around all city entrances, and loudspeakers were used to instruct residents in the “Al-Jalda” and “Ain Deir Bahha” neighborhoods to leave and relocate elsewhere.

In response to these orders, dozens of families have fled to neighboring areas after the Israeli army designated three exit routes. The Hebron Municipality has repurposed a former kindergarten in the “Ain Sarah” area as a temporary shelter, while local families have opened private community halls to accommodate displaced individuals.

The Israeli army further extended its operations to the towns of Sa’ir and Beit Ummar in Hebron, conducting home searches and arresting Palestinians. Among those arrested were Nabil al-Natsheh, head of the al-Natsheh family council, and lawyer Abdul Karim Farrah, a former member of the Hebron Municipal Council.

These actions followed an attack at the “Yehuda” junction near Hebron on Friday morning, resulting in the deaths of Staff Sergeant Ron Jonathan Ruetman and Sergeant Yuval Shay Swilam from the 775th “Ari” Battalion, along with injuries to three others. In the aftermath, the Israeli military announced a security cordon around Hebron and Halhul, establishing numerous checkpoints and indicating an expansion of their offensive operations.
