Japan PM assures the President of the Republic of his country’s desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received a letter from the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, in which he congratulated him on the occasion of his election, in his own name and on behalf of the government and people of his country.

According to a presidential statement, the Japanese Prime Minister indicated in his message that his country attaches great importance to its relationship with Iraq, which is the cornerstone of peace and stability in the Middle East.

Fumio Kishida added: “The two countries celebrated the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2019, and both countries have taken steps to further strengthen relations further since then.”

The Japanese Prime Minister expressed his hope that, under his presidency, Iraq will witness the necessary reform steps to face challenges, stressing Japan’s continued support in the field of Iraq’s development, and his country’s desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the broadest fields.
