Justice Minister and Federal Police Commander Discuss Enhanced Security Measures for Correctional Prisons


Baghdad: Justice Minister Khalid Shawani engaged in critical discussions with Federal Police Commander, Lieutenant General Mohammed Qasim, regarding the enhancement of security measures at correctional facilities.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry released a statement highlighting the discussions, which were also attended by the commander of the Prisons Protection Command. The meeting focused on strategies for securing the outer perimeters of prisons and strengthening both preventative and security measures. These initiatives aim to enhance readiness, maintain the security of correctional institutions, and prevent any potential breaches.



Minister Shawani underscored the significance of reinforcing prison security, viewing it as an essential component of both national and community security. He articulated the necessity of ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Justice and relevant security agencies to ensure maximum protection and stability within correctional facilities.



Lieutenant General Mohammed Qasim, representing the Federal Police, confirmed the readiness of federal forces to invest the necessary efforts and strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Justice. This collaboration aims to ensure the security of correctional facilities, safeguard their surrounding areas, and prevent any security breaches.
