Baghdad:The Justice Minister emphasized the importance of documenting the crimes and violations committed by the ousted regime against the Iraqi people and highlighting these issues to the international community.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Justice Minister Khalid Shwani received Abdullah Al-Hajj Mahmoud, the Minister of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government, along with his delegation, at the ministry’s headquarters. The discussions centered on issues concerning the victims of the former dictatorial regime and their families.

The meeting addressed topics related to martyrs, victims of the Anfal operations, and political prisoners. There was a strong emphasis on enhancing cooperation and coordination among relevant institutions to ensure the protection of these groups’ rights and the care of their families, following established legal frameworks.

The Minister highlighted the significance of continuing efforts to document the crimes and violations committed against the Iraqi people, particularly the Kurdish people and Anfal victims. This initiative aims to promote human rights and justice, preserve national memory, and prevent such tragedies from recurring.
