Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced the release of 112 juveniles in September 2025 as part of its monthly update on the Juvenile Reform Department.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry’s statement detailed that the releases included 59 detained juveniles who were freed, 24 parolees who served their sentences, and 12 parolees who were released due to good behavior and the completion of approved rehabilitation courses. These decisions were based on recommendations from the Social Research Division and approved by the competent judicial authorities. Additionally, 12 juveniles were released under a general amnesty, and 2 others were freed by a cassation decision.

The Ministry emphasized that the Juvenile Reform Department remains committed to its duties with professionalism and responsibility. It ensures meticulous monitoring of inmate files and guarantees that legal and humane procedures are followed in the release process.
