Erbil: The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Wednesday a decrease in electricity production of approximately 1,000 megawatts, following Dana Gas’s reduction of gas supplies to power plants in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a joint statement from the Ministries of Electricity and Natural Resources in the regional government stated: “There is ongoing coordination and communication with Dana Gas officials to determine the reasons for the gas supply reduction and to address the problem as quickly as possible.”

The statement added: “Efforts aim to ensure the resumption of gas flow at normal rates and to restore stability to the electricity production and distribution system in the region.”
