Kyiv: Jared Kushner affirmed in Kyiv, after meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, that Washington continues to work towards ending the conflict while laying the foundations for a lasting and sustainable peace.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Kushner emphasized that Donald Trump is committed to stopping the loss of life and reuniting families, though he acknowledged the difficulty of the task. The US President’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, described the talks as substantive and extremely important. He stated that the two sides engaged in meaningful discussions that may lead to new paths for progress on the issue.
Kushner mentioned that the US administration is in discussions with Kyiv about providing strong and clear security guarantees for Ukraine. This includes plans for prosperity and reconstruction once the conflict concludes. Zelensky had previously announced three rounds of talks with US and European envoys, which covered topics such as winter support, air defense systems, energy needs, regional issues, and security guarantees.
