Kuwaiti Media Figure Fajr Al-Saeed Apologizes to Iraq and Announces Retirement

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti media figure Fajr Al-Saeed apologized to Iraq, its people, and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and announced her repentance and retirement from political work. The Public Prosecution in Kuwait issued a decision yesterday to detain media personality Fajr Al-Saeed for 21 days in custody, and refer her to the central prison, on charges of insulting a brotherly Arab country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this measure came after the Iraqi embassy filed an official complaint with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which in turn referred it to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
