Basra: The Director General of the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim, met with the Director of the Basra Tourism Department, Hussein Al-Rubaie, along with a delegation from the Basra Tourism Syndicate, to discuss mechanisms for activating joint cooperation between state institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim emphasized the importance of implementing joint activities with the Tourism Authority. He called on relevant institutions to develop the tourism sector, aiming to make it a significant attraction for both local and international visitors and tourists.

Hussein Al-Rubaie, Director of the Basra Tourism Department, expressed his admiration for the scientific advancements and capabilities of the Marine Science Center, particularly in supporting ecotourism initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation presented Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim with an award of excellence. This recognition was for the center’s outstanding efforts in ongoing cooperation, active participation in official events, and provision of specialized scientific consultations in the field of ecotourism.
