Erbil: Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, held a phone call with Tom Barrack, President Trump’s Special Envoy for Syria and US Ambassador to Turkey. A statement by Barzani’s office indicated that during the call, they exchanged views on the political situation in the region in general, and the latest developments and changes in Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, both sides agreed on the necessity of continuing to take all steps to prevent tensions, unrest, and fighting, and to work towards establishing peace and stability in the region. During the call, both parties expressed their mutual appreciation for the influential role each has played in achieving peace and stability in the region.

Masoud Barzani expressed his appreciation for the role of the United States, emphasizing the continuation and strengthening of the alliance between the people of Kurdistan and the United States.
