Baghdad: Maysan Governor Habib Thahir Al-Fartousi inaugurated the model Tigris Corniche project in Amarah city this evening. During the opening ceremony, the governor highlighted the project’s role in enhancing Amarah’s riverfront, offering development works and recreational facilities that aim to improve the urban landscape and public spaces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Fartousi explained that the project includes paving the corniche with basalt and constructing an entrance gate. Other features of the development are dancing fountains, a waterfall fountain, a promenade, and a 120-meter-long river bridge. The project also saw the renovation of the old Al-Shabana Bridge, which now features a new waterfall and a modern lighting system.

Al-Fartousi noted that the Maysan local government is committed to continuing projects that develop riverfronts and public spaces. These efforts are intended to provide a suitable recreational environment for families and citizens while enhancing the beauty of Amarah city.
