Maysan Police Rescue a Family Held at Gunpoint by One of Its Members North of the Governorate


Maysan: The Maysan Governorate Police Command announced that it was able to rescue a family who had been held at gunpoint by one of its members in the Kumait District, north of the governorate.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement: “The operation was carried out after receiving information from reliable sources that the family was being held inside their home by one of its members, who was drunk and carrying a GC-type rifle. Immediately, a force from the Kumait Police Department moved in, and after obtaining judicial approval, they surrounded and stormed the house, using professional methods for dealing with such cases.”



The statement added: “The operation resulted in the liberation of the entire family and the arrest of the accused without any injuries. The accused was taken to the security detention center to complete legal proceedings against him.”
