Abu dhabi: A memorandum of understanding was signed in Abu Dhabi between the International Fund for Houbara Conservation and the Department of Culture and Tourism. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in the areas of natural heritage conservation, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and support for awareness and education programs related to biodiversity and wildlife.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two parties signed the memorandum at the Sheikh Zayed Houbara Conservation Programme pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), which continues until September 6 at the ADNEC Center. The pavilion showcases nearly five decades of achievements through a strategic partnership between the Fund and the Ikthar Group for Wildlife Development, a subsidiary of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation.

The memorandum aims to establish a general framework for strategic cooperation between the two parties, encompassing raising awareness, developing educational programs, exchanging expertise and scientific knowledge, and supporting community initiatives and activities related to biodiversity conservation, particularly those concerning the houbara bustard, an environmental and cultural symbol deeply rooted in the heritage of the UAE.
