Messi Leads Inter Miami to Victory Over San Luis in the League Cup

Inter miami: Inter Miami of the United States defeated their Mexican visitors, Atl©tico San Luis, 4-2 in their opening match of the League Cup group stage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, despite conceding an early goal to David Rodriguez in the fourth minute, Inter Miami rallied thanks to a stellar performance from their Argentine captain, Lionel Messi, who equalized in the 11th minute. Venezuelan Telasico Segovia then put the home side ahead in the 26th minute.

Messi extended their lead with a third goal before halftime, while Brazilian defender Micael added a fourth in first-half stoppage time, giving Inter Miami a commanding 4-1 advantage at the break.

In the second half, Spaniard Rafa Llorente pulled one back for Atl©tico San Luis, but Inter Miami held on to their lead until the final whistle, securing a strong start to the tournament.

The match saw Messi achieve a new record, raising his tally to 14 goals in the League Cup, becoming the competition's all-time top scorer, surpassing Gabon's Denis Bouanga of Los Angeles FC.
