Baghdad: The Military Industrialization Authority confirmed today that the recently signed memorandum of understanding with the Sultanate of Oman aims to support the production of armored vehicles to meet international specifications, fostering industrial integration and expertise exchange.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Chairman of the Military Industrialization Authority, Mustafa Ati Hassan, stated that the agreement with an Omani company in the defense industry sector was signed during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Oman. The collaboration is part of joint efforts, leveraging Oman’s connections with international companies specializing in armored vehicle production.
Hassan highlighted that Iraq possesses a fully equipped factory for producing these vehicles, and the new partnership will bolster its capabilities with advanced expertise and technology. He noted that prior discussions and mutual visits with the Omani side have secured comprehensive support for producing armored vehicles adhering to international standards. Oman is home to specialized factories and companies, such as the American company TAC, which manufactures armored vehicles utilized by forces in the Gulf and the US Army.
He further explained that this expertise and technology would significantly enhance the capabilities of the Military Industrialization Authority. Hassan indicated that Oman’s substantial ammunition factory supplies products to various countries, and Iraq’s significant factories create promising opportunities for industrial integration and expertise exchange between the two nations.
