Nineveh: The Military Intelligence Directorate arrested a member of the ISIS terrorist gang in Nineveh Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate stated in a statement that a preemptive operation was carried out with distinguished intelligence efforts. Based on accurate intelligence information from the Intelligence Division of the 16th Division, and in cooperation with intelligence and a force from the Third Brigade, a tight ambush was set up in the village of Al-Abbasiya. As a result, one of the terrorists wanted by the Iraqi judiciary was arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Terrorism Law in Nimrud District.

The statement indicated that the terrorist was working as a fighter in the ranks of the ISIS terrorist organization. He had participated in many terrorist attacks against Iraqi security forces in the past and contributed to the displacement of Iraqi Shabak families from the Nineveh Plain. The individual was handed over to the requesting party.
