Baghdad: The Minister of Agriculture, Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari, has called for the mobilization of veterinary services in a bid to protect livestock and ensure consumer safety. This directive came during Al-Shammari’s field visit to the Veterinary Department, where he emphasized the importance of activating veterinary procedures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the visit, the Minister was briefed by the Director General and other specialists on the current operations and the challenges faced by the department. Al-Shammari highlighted the urgent need to address these challenges, making it clear that negligence would not be tolerated. He also noted that performance evaluations would focus on efficiency and professionalism in overcoming the existing obstacles.

These field visits underscore Al-Shammari’s dedication to closely monitoring agricultural operations. By identifying and resolving hurdles faced by various departments and companies, the Minister aims to enhance the performance of both the plant and animal sectors. This approach is expected to bolster local production and contribute significantly to food security.
