Baghdad: The Minister of Education has initiated a reform process for the Staff Support Fund, with a focus on restructuring its operations and financial management. Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri, who also serves as the Chairman of the Central Education Fund, led a meeting with the Fund's Board of Directors where he unveiled a comprehensive reform program aimed at safeguarding the rights of beneficiaries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting concentrated on the Fund's income and deposit strategies, methods of disbursement, and previously granted advances. The discussions highlighted the need to maximize resources and develop a robust financial strategy to ensure the Fund's sustainability. Al-Jubouri emphasized the suspension of all disbursements except for those related to humanitarian cases, and he mandated comprehensive audits of the education directorates within a specific timeframe. He stated, "I want to put the Fund on the right track; it is the lifeline for you, and I will not allow any violation of the law at my personal expense."
The board members approved the disbursement of entitlements for 1,321 humanitarian cases. These were categorized into 1,317 surgical procedures and 4 exceptional cases, all in accordance with the established regulations.
