Baghdad: The Minister of Electricity, Ali Saadi Wahib, has issued a directive appointing Nashat Kadhim Yassin to oversee the General Company for Electricity Distribution in the South during the suspension period. This directive grants Yassin comprehensive administrative and financial authority to manage the company effectively.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Wahib’s decision follows the suspension of the current Director General, Ghaith Najm Ubaid, which was announced on June 9th. Ubaid’s suspension is set for a duration of 60 days, during which Yassin will assume control to ensure continued operations and management within the department. This appointment reflects the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining stability and efficiency in the electricity distribution sector in the southern region.
