Baghdad: The Minister of Justice, Khalid Shawani, chaired the periodic meeting of the National Team tasked with monitoring the implementation of the strategy to strengthen the rule of law in Iraq. This strategy, which includes the Kurdistan Region, spans the years 2025 to 2029. The meeting saw the participation of the first and second deputies of the team, Burhan Al-Qaisi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Shilan Arif, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice in the Kurdistan Region, members of the team, and a representative from the Investigator Organization.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was devoted to the final review of the main implementation plan and a discussion of the submitted comments and proposals. The minister highlighted that the National Strategy for Strengthening the Rule of Law serves as a roadmap for enhancing the rule of law in Iraq and establishing the foundations of institutional work in line with the government program and applicable laws and regulations. This strategy aims to improve Iraq’s standing at the regional and international levels, contribute to raising the quality of services provided to citizens, and reinforce the principles of justice and the rule of law. The comments raised during the meeting regarding the main implementation plan were discussed and integrated into the framework of the National Strategy for Strengthening the Rule of Law.
