Baghdad: The General Directorate of Traffic announced today a temporary suspension of vehicle registration and driver’s license issuance in Baghdad and the provinces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the directorate specified that operations at vehicle registration and driver’s license issuance centers will be halted on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. This suspension is due to maintenance work within the national project system.

The statement further clarified that normal operations are set to resume on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Additionally, for those who had previously scheduled appointments on the affected days, their transactions will be prioritized and processed on the first day of resumed operations.
