Tehran: The Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, arrived in Tehran on an official visit focused on enhancing cooperation in judicial and legal matters. The visit underscores efforts to bolster bilateral relations between the neighboring countries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Shawani held an extensive meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Amin Hossein Rahimi. The discussions centered on developing judicial relations and activating existing bilateral agreements. A key point of the meeting was the potential formation of a joint technical committee to monitor the implementation of agreements, particularly those pertaining to reform departments and judicial fields.
The dialogue also included talks about a new memorandum of understanding concerning the extradition of individuals wanted in corruption cases and the recovery of public funds. This proposed MoU aims to strengthen collaboration in tackling corruption and recovering assets for both nations.
