Ministry of Culture Explores Joint Cooperation with House of Representatives


Baghdad: The Ministry of Culture is exploring prospects for joint cooperation with the House of Representatives. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities for Arts Affairs, Qasim Taher Al-Sudani, met with the Assistant Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, Alaa Al-Mandalawi, to discuss potential collaborations between the Ministry and the Council of Representatives in the cultural, tourism, and antiquities sectors.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of strengthening support for the Ministry and allocating budgets that align with its responsibilities. This would enable the Ministry to fulfill its cultural mission and develop its sectors effectively. Discussions also covered the significant obstacles the Ministry faces and strategies to address them.



Alaa Al-Mandalawi expressed his readiness to support the Ministry in overcoming these challenges through relevant parliamentary committees, notably the Committee on Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, along with other related committees.



During the meeting, the Undersecretary highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to implement plans to enhance performance and operations. These efforts are in line with the government program and the 16 priorities it has identified, aimed at achieving its objectives in the current phase.
