Ministry of Culture Gears Up for 27th Baghdad International Book Fair

Baghdad: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities is preparing for the 27th edition of the Baghdad International Book Fair, which is set to run from September 2nd to 12th.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Fadhil Al-Badrani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Cultural Affairs, emphasized the commitment of the Ministry of Culture, guided by Minister Sarwa Abdul Wahid, to revitalize the cultural scene in Iraq. The Ministry aims to nurture a culture worthy of the country's rich historical heritage as the cradle of the alphabet. This year's book fair will include various cultural events and is expected to attract renowned cultural figures and celebrities.

Dr. Al-Badrani highlighted the participation of several ministers who will present their respective ministries' plans during the event. The fair will offer a wide range of titles, including children's and family literature, as well as works in scientific, literary, and religious fields, among others.

He further mentioned that over 600 publishing houses, comprising both agencies and independent publishers from 23 countries, are set to participate in this edition of the book fair.
