Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior is engaging in discussions with UNESCO to explore ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of the rule of law. This initiative aims to strengthen the legal frameworks and promote a culture of respect for human rights.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry revealed in a press release that Major General Dr. Mohammed Sami, President of the Court of Cassation for Internal Security Forces, met with a UNESCO delegation. The delegation was led by Alexandros Makiakis, UNESCO’s representative and director of its office in Iraq, accompanied by his team.

The meeting focused on exploring prospects for joint cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. Both parties aim to develop capabilities, consolidate the principles of the rule of law, and foster a culture that respects human rights.

Both sides stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and collaboration to achieve their objectives. They also expressed their commitment to supporting international cooperation in the legal and humanitarian fields.
