Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced Iraq’s official accession to the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry expressed pride in Iraq’s official inclusion in INTERPA, marking a significant achievement in boosting Iraq’s presence at both regional and international levels. The Ministry emphasized that this development was due to the tireless efforts and strategic guidance of Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, who has been instrumental in fostering academic and security collaboration with law enforcement bodies worldwide, thereby enhancing Iraq’s role as a key partner in the global police training network.

The Ministry highlighted that joining this international body is a crucial step towards elevating the academic and training standards of Iraqi police personnel. It facilitates the development of modern curricula and improves the efficiency of educational institutions under the Ministry of Interior, aligning them with international norms related to security, crime prevention, and human rights protection.
