Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of an international network and the seizure of 260 kg of Captagon in Sulaymaniyah.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated that the Rusafa Narcotics Affairs Directorate, in collaboration with the Sulaymaniyah Narcotics Affairs Directorate, successfully dismantled an international drug trafficking network. This operation followed a security pursuit initiated in a neighboring country and concluded in Sulaymaniyah.
The operation led to the seizure of 260 kilograms of Captagon pills and the arrest of two suspects, one of whom is a foreign national. The announcement of this operation, which was conducted four months ago, was delayed for intelligence and investigative purposes to ensure the tracking of the network’s extensions and activity routes and to identify its members.
The ministry emphasized that the pursuit of cross-border drug networks and the disruption of their sources are supported by the judiciary and its decisions.
