Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor is actively working towards finalizing a memorandum of understanding with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to bolster collaboration in vocational training. This initiative aims to strengthen ties and enhance vocational training programs.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Khalid Amjad Al-Saigh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, recently met with representatives from GIZ. The meeting focused on completing the legal and technical procedures required to formalize the memorandum of understanding. This agreement is expected to pave the way for joint cooperation programs between the two parties.
Discussions during the meeting covered various areas of cooperation, specifically targeting the labor department and vocational training. A key aspect of the collaboration is the reintegration of returnees into the workforce by developing their skills, offering training, and connecting them with employment opportunities to foster their economic and social stability.
Dr. Al-Saigh highlighted the importance of meeting the necessary requirements for the memorandum, defining the mechanisms for implementing the cooperation areas, and ensuring effective coordination between both parties.
