Ministry of Labor Disburses August Social Assistance Payments to Over Two Million Families

Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced the distribution of social assistance payments for August 2026, benefiting more than 2,046,000 families across Baghdad and other provinces, with the exclusion of the Kurdistan Region. The total disbursement exceeds 438 billion Iraqi dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Ahmed Al-Moussawi, Head of the Social Protection Authority, reported that the payments include coverage for over 1,482,000 families headed by men, who will receive more than 353 billion dinars. Additionally, more than 564,000 families headed by women will receive over 84 billion dinars.

Al-Moussawi encouraged eligible families to visit designated payment centers to collect their payments, stressing the Authority's dedication to ensuring a seamless disbursement process. He highlighted the importance of timely assistance reaching its intended recipients.

The release of these payments is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to support families involved in social protection programs and to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations.
