More Than 200 Kg of Captagon Pills Seized and a Trafficking Network Dismantled in Nineveh and Kirkuk


Nineveh: The General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics Affairs announced today the seizure of 208 kilograms of Captagon narcotic pills in Nineveh and Kirkuk governorates, confirming the dismantling of a network specialized in drug trafficking and the arrest of three people running this network.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the directorate stated that the operation came in joint coordination with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service and the Kurdistan Region Anti-Narcotics Directorate in Erbil. The operation was implemented after precise intelligence efforts and continuous field follow-up.



The statement indicated that the joint security efforts resulted in the arrest of the three accused who were running the smuggling and distribution network, in addition to the seizure of large quantities of narcotic substances that were prepared for smuggling and promotion within the country.
