Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized on Saturday the importance of preventing the escalation of the conflict and de-escalating tensions in the region. Al-Araji’s media office said in a statement: “National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added that “the meeting reviewed the latest developments in the region and stressed the importance of preventing the escalation of the conflict and de-escalating tensions.”

The statement further noted that al-Araji commended “the role and efforts of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in addressing regional issues,” emphasizing “the necessity of continuing international efforts to enhance the security and stability of the region.”
