National Security Council Reviews Military Readiness for Coalition Forces Withdrawal


Baghdad: The National Security Council held its twelfth session of 2026 on Tuesday, chaired by National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi, with the attendance of council members. The session focused on discussing key security topics and making necessary decisions and recommendations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory issued a press release stating that the council evaluated the readiness of military and security forces in preparation for the planned withdrawal of coalition forces. The session included a detailed review of the readiness of all related entities.



During the discussions, Qasim al-Aboudi affirmed that the military and security forces are well-prepared to manage potential challenges. He emphasized that the Iraqi government is actively pursuing its security and military strategies to uphold the security, stability, and sovereignty of the nation.
