Naval Intelligence Directorate Arrests 23 Foreigners for Illegal Entry into Iraq


Umm qasr: In a naval intelligence operation, the Naval Intelligence Directorate arrested 23 foreigners who attempted to enter the country illegally. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration and secure Iraq’s territorial waters.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Military Intelligence Directorate announced that the arrests were made based on precise intelligence provided by the Intelligence and Security Department at the Umm Qasr Naval Base. The Directorate’s detachments successfully executed a well-planned ambush using fast patrol boats, leading to the apprehension of the individuals.



The arrested foreigners were attempting to infiltrate Iraqi territory through its territorial waters. They have been handed over to the relevant authorities for legal processing in accordance with established procedures.
