Nineveh: Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil confirmed that the relevant authorities have carried out a campaign to remove encroachments, specifically fish farms built on waterways and illegal connections to water pipelines in the Tal Abtah district. This action was taken in accordance with the local government’s directives aimed at addressing the water crisis and ensuring its delivery to citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Dakhil stated that these measures have contributed to restoring the supply of potable water to the district’s residents after removing the obstacles that were hindering its delivery. He emphasized that the governorate is directly monitoring the basic services file and working to address it according to urgent field plans.

Al-Dakhil added that the local government will not tolerate any encroachment that affects service projects or deprives citizens of their rights, noting the continuation of campaigns to remove encroachments in coordination with the relevant departments to protect the water pipelines and ensure the sustainability of the water supply.

He explained that Nineveh Governorate continues to implement its service campaigns in various districts and sub-districts with the aim of improving the level of services and meeting the needs of citizens, stressing that providing drinking water is among the priorities of the local government.
