Nineveh Plans to Cancel Security Checks for National ID Holders

Nineveh: Nineveh is considering the cancellation of security checks for holders of national identity cards as part of an initiative to streamline citizen transactions. The head of the Nineveh Security Committee, Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil, has announced that a study is underway to explore mechanisms for this change. The primary objective is to minimize bureaucracy and facilitate smoother transactions for citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Dakhil stated that leveraging national identity card data could significantly shorten the review process and reduce repetitive procedures. This potential reform would involve coordination with security and judicial authorities, alongside relevant departments, to ensure a seamless transition.

Al-Dakhil further explained that the procedures will undergo thorough study and coordination with the relevant authorities to develop a clear implementation mechanism. The scope of cases covered by this initiative will be identified, ensuring adherence to legal and security requirements.

The governor emphasized that the ultimate goal of this initiative is to alleviate the burden on applicants by reducing waiting times and minimizing the need for repeated visits. Additionally, follow-up and monitoring mechanisms will be established to ensure the proper implementation of these changes.
