Nineveh Stadium Set to Host International Opening Match


Nineveh: The local administration stadium in Nineveh, with a seating capacity exceeding 15,000, is on track to host an international opening match upon its completion. Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil has confirmed that the construction project is advancing according to the approved technical specifications and timeline.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Dakhil described the project as a significant enhancement to the sports infrastructure in Nineveh. He emphasized the necessity of completing the stadium to a standard that reflects the province’s dedication to sports. The governor highlighted that the construction progress is notable, with authorities closely monitoring each phase of implementation.



Al-Dakhil elaborated that the stadium would provide a comprehensive facility capable of hosting a range of matches and sporting events. He revealed plans for the inaugural match, which will feature Mosul FC against an international club, marking the stadium’s debut. Furthermore, the stadium is set to become the home ground for Mosul FC’s matches in the professional league, thereby contributing to the club’s development and strengthening its presence in the sporting arena.
