Nominees Announced for 2026 Ballon d’Or Awards


Paris: The list of nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or awards has been revealed, showcasing a diverse array of talent across multiple categories. The prestigious awards ceremony, celebrating its 70th anniversary, will take place in London for the first time on October 26th.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, France Football magazine published the lists of nominees on its website, highlighting the top contenders for each category. The best player award shortlist includes thirty names, featuring renowned players such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbapp©, Erling Haaland, and Jude Bellingham, alongside emerging talents like Lamine Djamel and Ferran Torres.



In the Women’s Player of the Year category, the nominees include Alexia Bo«tiaÅ¡, Barbara Banda, and Vivianne Miedema, among others. The list reflects the growing recognition of women’s football globally.



The Men’s Coach of the Year contenders are Mikel Arteta, Luis de la Fuente, Unai Emery, Vincent Kompany, and Luis Enrique, each recognized for their contributions to their respective teams. Meanwhile, the Women’s Coach of the Year nominees comprise Jonathan Giraldez, Andr© Gigglertz, Nils Nielsen, Pere Romo, and Elena Sadiku.



For the Men’s Team of the Year, the nominees are Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bod¸/Glimt, and Flamengo. The Women’s Team of the Year shortlist includes Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club Am©rica, Manchester City, and Lyon, showcasing top performances from clubs worldwide.



The Young Player of the Year category highlights upcoming stars like Lamine Jamal, Ayoub Bouadi, and Pau Koparsi, pointing to the bright future of football talent globally.



In the Best Goalkeeper category, nominees include Yassine Bounou, Thibaut Courtois, Emiliano Mart­nez, and ‰douard Mendy, among others, representing exceptional performances between the posts.



The anticipation builds as these nominees await the ceremony, marking a significant milestone in football history.
