Muscat: Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi met with Steve Wittkopf, the US President’s Special Envoy to Geneva, to discuss the latest developments in the US-Iranian negotiations ahead of a new round of talks between the two sides.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the two sides reviewed the Iranian side’s views and proposals, as well as the responses and inquiries of the US negotiating team. The discussions focused on addressing the main elements of Iran’s nuclear program and the necessary guarantees for reaching an agreement on this issue in all its technical and monitoring aspects.
Al Busaidi emphasized to Wittkopf the continued efforts to prevent any escalation, highlighting the negotiators’ openness to new ideas and solutions. He stressed the importance of creating conducive conditions to progress and reaching a fair agreement with sustainable guarantees.
