Accra:Musandam The Omani Navy has successfully evacuated 25 crew members from a commercial vessel following an incident 1.6 nautical miles off the coast of Musandam Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the vessel, identified as RITI, was sailing under the flag of the Republic of Panama when it was reportedly targeted, resulting in a fire on board.

The Royal Navy of Oman quickly responded by launching an evacuation operation in coordination with the Maritime Security Centre. All crew members were safely rescued and transported to a secure location where they received necessary medical care.

This incident is part of a recent string of maritime incidents in the region, where Omani authorities have previously conducted similar evacuation operations for vessels involved in security-related incidents near Musandam.
