Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi hosted on Saturday evening the 38th regular meeting of the State Administration Coalition at the Government Palace, attended by the heads of the presidencies, where a number of economic, political, and legislative issues were discussed.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated that the coalition reviewed the economic, financial, and investment situation, with particular focus on the new cities project and the initiative to distribute one million residential plots of land. Emphasis was placed on measures that would support investment and address the housing crisis. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi announced the suspension of demolitions of unauthorized structures until the distribution of land plots is completed.

The coalition also examined the government’s anti-corruption measures and institutional reforms, including the draft law on the Federal Internal Oversight Commission. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi reiterated the government’s commitment to combating corruption, receiving support from the participants for the anti-corruption campaign and legal actions against corrupt individuals.

Politically, the coalition discussed domestic, regional, and international developments, emphasizing the need for a unified national stance to maintain Iraq’s stability, sovereignty, and interests. They addressed the repercussions of U.S. sanctions on certain countries, highlighting Iraq’s financial vulnerabilities and the importance of coordination among coalition components to support state institutions.

Regarding government formation, the coalition agreed to initiate dialogue with eligible blocs in the coming week and reaffirmed their commitment to rejecting sectarian rhetoric and promoting social peace as per constitutional principles. The meeting also prioritized the draft Oil and Gas Law for submission to the Council of Representatives and underscored the significance of the private sector in development.

Additionally, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi announced the forthcoming release of a new financial payment to settle outstanding dues to farmers and contractors.
